Newman Finishes 5th -- 8th in Points

Like I said before, I was nervous as hell to watch the race at California on Sunday night. As a fan of NASCAR, you just never know what could happen -- Ryan could get taken out and his shot for the Chase for the Cup could end, who knows.

Ryan Newman drove the white, red, and black Sony Wega Dodge this race, looking sleek underneath the lights. Ryan didn't do too bad, staying in the Top 15 all race long while fighting a loose condition. Ryan also had a bad head cold, but he managed to keep his focus throughout the race, making the right adjustments, and by the time it was all over, Elliott Sadler, driver of the #38 M&M's Ford, won his second race of the season while Ryan took fifth.

Now, Ryan is sitting 8th in points. He needs to be in the Top 10 after next Saturday night's race in Richmond to be in the Chase. The points race is tight between 8th place and 15ht, so anything can happen. Lucky for Ryan, Richmond has been good to him -- he won at Richmond last year.
