BoSox FINALLY Win the World Series -- 4 Games to Zero
The Red Sox Rejoice -- World Champions of Baseball
The Impossible Dream is over -- the Red Sox have finally won the World Series for the first time since 1918. That year is huge in the hearts of all New Englanders and BoSox fans across the world -- just to think that generations of Red Sox fans have passed on and never seen their beloved Sox win the World Series. Even the great Ted Williams could not give them one.
The Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3 to 0 last night, completing the sweep. The Red Sox pulled off the impossible -- down 3 game to nothing against the Yankees, pulling off 4 straight before sweeping the Cardinals. 8 wins in a row, in the playoffs!
Manny Ramirez won the World Seires MVP award with his .400+ batting average. In my opinion, the MVP should have been shared with every BoSox pitcher on that team, because they successfully shut down the highly-touted offense of the Cardinals throughout the Series.
I feel good for David Ortiz and Doug Mientkiewicz, former Minnesota Twins ball players who are part of a team who won the Series. The Twins have been trying to get there for the past three years with their playoff runs, but always come up short.
As the saying goes, "wait 'til next year."
