BoSox Up 3 Games to Zero!

Jeff Suppan is tagged out at third base on a throw from David Ortiz. Posted by Hello

Now this is exactly why the American League implements the designated hitter rule: pitchers should not be allowed to run on the base paths.

In an odd play in Game 3, Larry Walker hit a ground ball to first baseman David Ortiz. Ortiz fielded it, tagged Walker, and saw a "skittish" Jeff Suppan, the Cardinals' pitcher, dancing down the third base line.

In watching replays, the Cardinals' third base coach is hollering at Suppan to go, but instead, it's a back-and-forth game to see what Ortiz will do. Although Ortiz is not known for his defensive prowess on the field, he gunned the ball over to third baseman Bill Mueller and tagged out Suppan.

Stupid.

My faith in the Cardinals is dwindling away, with Game 4 being played tonight. The big bats of St. Louis have been silenced.
