How 'Bout Them BoSox?!

Boston Wins! Posted by Hello

This is getting nuts. And this is why I love playoff baseball.

Last night, behind the gimpy ankle of pitcher Curt Schilling, Boston comes from a 3 game to NONE deficit to now tie it up 3 games a piece with a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

After getting their butts beat in during Game 3 (19-8 Yankee win), the BoSox have won three straight and the people of Boston are now starting to think the impossible. I'm just glad I do not live in Boston!

The Curse of the Bambino has been well documented -- Babe Ruth and other Red Sox players sold to the Yankees in 1920 for cash and ever since then ... the Red Sox have not won a World Series. They were one out away from winning it all in 1986 against the New York Mets, but that's another story. DO NOT BLAME BUCKNER.

Greatest ALCS ever? Probably. How about the NLCS? What about the Astros and the Cardinals? They've taken the back seat for the Yankee-Red Sox series, and that's simply a shame, considering what's been going down in that series. The St. Louis Cardinals won the first two games at Busch Stadium, then Houston won three straight at Minute Maid Park. If Houston should lose this series (pending if St. Louis wins two straight at home), Carlos Beltran should get the NLCS MVP award, since he has the hottest bat in the playoffs with all of those home runs.

I'm still standing by my prediction -- a Red Sox-Cardinals World Series.

ALCS Game 7 tonight, NLCS Game 6 this afternoon.

Oh, by the way ... I've got my 2004 Twins Homer Hankies. Shame.
