New DVD's

On Saturday, I picked up 3 new movies:

Of course, being a huge fan of the Kevin Smith films, I had to run out and get Smith's first flick "Clerks.," and his newest one, Jersey Girl.

The special features that comes with the "Clerks. 10th Anniversary Edition" are staggering. So many featurettes, including how Smith got the inspiration and just his general background in how he got into movie-making. The highlight is the 10th Anniversary Q&A, where Smith is teamed up with Scott Mosier, David Klein, and cast members as they are asked questions from an audience. Hands down, the funniest thing I've ever seen.

And Jersey Girl ... a little "chick-flick-ish" and sappy, but it's showcases some of the best dialogue ever written by Smith in a non-Jay and Silent Bob-type of film. Some of the moments are laugh-out loud. Overall, a great movie -- plus the special features. Smith's Roadside Attractions that were shown on "The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno" were hilarious.

Oscar ... well, not a movie that was well known throughout the film industry, but it's one of the funniest stories in a film that I have seen. It's got Sly Stallone in it plus a great gaggle of characters, but overall, a fun film.
